Why Eco-friendly Tyres

Now, that’s a good question, especially today when environmental pollution is one of the most crucial issues that are threatening the whole world. The question is, do eco-friendly tyres exist? Actually, yes. With technological advancements, the tyre manufacturers are coming up with eco-friendly tyres which are beneficial for the environment and good for your pocket too.

Why Tyre Companies Are Making Eco-friendly Tyres:

These types of tyres are environment friendly and sustainable. These help in reducing carbon emission and thus, save the nature from environmental pollution. The tyre manufacturers are making these tyres which are also not very pricey. Now, what is eco-friendly? In a nutshell, eco-friendly tyres mean those tyres which are fuel-efficient and in turn, reduce the emission of carbon-di-oxide in the environment. But, while buying such tyres, the buyers must check out some more things-

  • Tyre Pressure- It is very important to check the tyre pressure regularly. While buying tyre, you must be served with a manual. You will know the right tyre pressure from there. Never forget to check if your tyres are at right pressure and those are always inflated. This will help you in smooth driving and cause lesser fuel consumption.
  • Check out Any Deformities- While driving, it is possible that your tyres get damaged by any objects or sudden bumps. You should replace your tyre as soon as possible when you see the first sign of damage.
  • Check Tread- Are your tyres balding? What are you waiting for? Replace those tyres now as balding tyres not only dangerous for environment, but also make potential damage to your vehicle.

The 3R’s of Eco-friendly Tyres
Due to the increasing environmental threat, the tyre manufacturers are thinking of making such tyres which hamper the environmental balance as less as possible. Eco-friendly tyres are the outcome of such thought. If you want to know more about the issue, you need to know about the 3r’s of eco-friendly tyres.

  • Recycling- Tyre manufacturers are using this method a lot to save the environment. For example, the scrap tyres can be recycled to make fuels. Moreover, the tyre companies are working on a devulcanizing process where cured rubber will be used more and thus, those will be recycled.
  • Raw Materials- Now, the raw materials, those are used so far to make tyres are not at all eco-friendly. But, now the tyre builders are planning to use synthetic rubber which can be derived from plants instead of petroleum by-products. For example, Guayule plants and the Russian dandelion have been proved to process synthetic rubber with the same quality.
  • Rolling Resistance- It means the amount of energy that is produced while the vehicle is on the move. Tyre companies are now building such tyres with lower rolling resistance. These tyres help in reducing CO2 emission in the air.

Hopefully, you get why tyre builders are making eco-friendly tyres and how those are working. Still, there is no standard rating system for these tyres till date. So, if you’re heading to buy, do a little research from your part to get the best deal.
